Renovating your home is one of the most exciting projects you can embark on. However, it can also be nerve-wracking. After all, we’ve all heard the horror stories of epic cost and time blowouts, dodgy builders and botched jobs.

At Kelida Homes, we’ve been delivering professional home alterations, additions and renovations across Sydney’s North Shore and Inner West for more than 30 years. We’ve seen the aftermath of those horror stories and made it our mission to ensure that never happens to clients like you.

We’ve developed a step-by-step process to make renovation as easy and stress-free for our clients as possible. This article breaks down our proven three-step process so you can understand exactly what you’ll get from a Kelida Homes project.

01  INITIAL MEETING AND PROPOSAL

The planning stage is arguably the most important part of the entire process. This is where we get to know each other, understand your goals and vision, and set the direction for the entire project.

First, we’ll ask you to fill in a short questionnaire ahead of our initial meeting. This will ensure I have the correct information for when we speak – meaning we don’t need to cover off ‘the basics’ in the meeting, and allowing us to do some early research and thinking. All this adds up to a more productive initial meeting.

At our meeting, we’ll meet to discuss your vision, budget and feasibility of the project and how we can help you achieve your goals and expectations. we will gather more information about where you are in the process and what is most important to you. We’ll also have a chance to get to know each other a little, and decide if we want to work together for several weeks or months!

02  CONTRACT AND SCHEDULING

If we are a good fit, we will analyse your plans, specification and wish list items. Then, we’ll put together your Professionally Prepared Proposal, laying out exactly what your project will entail, the end result, and a transparent quote with no hidden costs.

We’ll present this to you; once accepted, we will move on to contract signing. This is important for both you and us: a signed contract protects both you and us.

Once the proposal is approved and the contract is signed, we’ll carry out detailed planning and create a project timeline to ensure construction goes without a hitch.

We work with you the whole time with templates and meetings to ensure you’re fully informed and comfortable with what is happening. You’ll know exactly what decisions need to be made by what time frame.

03  CONSTRUCTION AND HANDOVER

We’ll deliver the project with minimal disruption to your life and regular progress updates.

The entire construction phase will be project-managed in-house by company director Andrew Mead. We only use trusted tradespeople that provide the highest quality workmanship, and with whom we’ve worked for decades

We’ll keep you informed of progress with regular updates; once the work is finished and signed off by regulators and yourself, it’s all yours to enjoy!

Success is a team effort

Over the past 30 years, we’ve learnt one important lesson: success is a team effort. The key is transparency and communication: if you carry out our project with Kelida Homes, we promise that we’ll provide completely transparent quotes with no hidden costs, and that we’ll keep you 100% in the loop throughout the entire construction phase.
